Identifying Features
Blue cohosh blooms from April to June. The flowers are 1/2", six-pointed, and green to yellow in color.
Their leaves are compound with 7-9 lobed leaflets.
They produce deep blue berries.
Habitat & Range
Blue cohosh is found in forests throughout the eastern half of the US.
This plant is common in the southwestern corner of Smith Woods.
Life Cycle
Blue cohosh is perennial.
