Conservation Status
Identifying Features
The New York fern is 12-24" long. It has green-yellow fronds that are twice compount with 20 or more pairs of leaflets. The shape tapers at the tip and at the base of the frond.
Habitat & Range
This fern is found in the clearings of moist forests in the Eastern United States and Canada.
Behavior
This plant will form colonies, and create a dense ground cover in forests.
Life Cycle
The sori, or spore-producing receptacles, are rounded and on the underside of the leaflet edges.
