Identifying Features
The flowers of blue vervain are blue-purple, tiny, with 5 petals, and clustered on narrow branching spikes.
The leaves are toothed, narrow, and grow on grooved, four-sided stems. The plants grow to 6’ in height.
Habitat & Range
Blue vervain grows on the sides of trails and watersides across the United States and southern Canada.
Life Cycle
The flowers bloom from July to September.
This species is an herbaceous biennial.
