Identifying Features

The flowers of this species are 2", pink-purple, and have 5 petals.

The leaves are 6", maple-like, toothed, and grow on hairy stems. The plants grow to 6’ in height.

Habitat & Range

Purple-flowering raspberry grows in rocky forests and ravines in the northeastern United States, southeastern Canada, and Europe.

Life Cycle

The flowers bloom from June to August. They form red, cup-shaped berries.

Purple-flowering raspberry is a perennial deciduous shrub.
