Identifying Features
Brown thrashers are 12" long with 13" wingspans. They are a reddish brown in color and have a white breast with black streaks.
Habitat & Range
Brown thrashers live in forests, thickets, and fields.
Their breeding range consists of the northeastern quarter of the United States, and they migrate to the southeastern US for the winter.
Behavior
Brown thrashers feed on insects and invertebrates.
They have a wide vocal range of calls, and will mimic other birds.
